Cameras fitted with normal lenses do not permit us to move closer than a certain minimum distance from the object being photographed. The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens.

Works very well with Canon Rebel XS as a conversion lens, allowing my novice photographer daughter to experiment with macro shots without having to invest significantly more $$$ in an actual Canon macro lens. The product works well; the lens delivered just like the description and other reviewers said it would. Though you have to physically get closer and farther from the subject, and while auto-focus features may mar its effectiveness, it works fine. The only problem I ran into was that the images would come out circular rather than rectangular (?).

This macro lens attaching to an existing lens works well and has an exceedingly low price. Of course it is not a dedicated macro lens. But because it is easy to carry (small) and so inexpensive and of good quality it is a bargain.

its a very good product, but if you are thinking this will work with your macro lens, forget it... the closed it's too small and F have to be very high to see something and the focus area is too small.
